My dad went on a three week long trip to Africa to hunt. Sometimes we don't get to call him for a couple days. Two days ago we got a call from him and it was really surprising and great. He hadn't been able to call for a whole three days so I had lots of things to tell him. My mom, brother, and I were all sitting in the living room watching tv and all of a sudden we heard my mom's phone ring and an unknown caller was on the screen. We knew it was my dad.
We put him on speaker and gathered around the phone eagerly. We missed him so much that just a couple minutes of calling him made us all very happy. As the conversation came to an end after just 3 or 4 minutes, we felt satisfied. We said everything we needed to say quickly so there was room for laughs. Talking to someone for just a couple of minutes makes a huge difference.
I can relate to that story because my dad went to Iraq and when he came home, it was a burst of joy.
